“Clean out the icebox” buttermilk vinaigrette

I’m eager to use up the things left behind by my talented predecessor, Andrea Blum…

This left me with an inkling to make a delicious little buttermilk vinaigrette for the lettuces on Friday.  And here’s a list of what went into the ball jar:

apple cider vinegar, half a small clove of garlic smashed to a paste, buttermilk, extra virgin olive oil, a spoonful of fromage blanc and a squeeze of meyer lemon

  1. Yes! I would say to try making a yogurt based dressing instead of using powdered buttermilk. If you purchase a small container of buttermilk you can use it up in cornbreads, cakes or to buttermilk-fry chicken, rabbit or fish…
